DESCRIPTION:
Clocks- 2 (Two): (1) Waterbury Clock Co., Waterbury, Conn., "Granville" mantel clock, 8 day, time and strike, spring driven movement in a walnut case, c1886; (2) Wm. L. Gilbert, Winsted, Conn., "Altai" mantel clock, 8 day, time and strike with alarm, spring driven movement in a walnut case, c1885;
CONDITION:
(1) The case has an original finish with a few scratches. Signed painted metal dial has paint loss around the winding arbors and to the right of the center arbor. Door glass is a modern replacement. Nice fancy pendulum a type that was used by Waterbury. Hands are old, but not original. Fan-shaped piece is missing from the center of the crest. (2) Original, but uneven finish. Paper dial is stained and worn. Original door glass has a horizontal break Strikes on a cathedral gong. Movement with stopworks is signed. Original pendulum. Dimensions are for the Granville (1). Sold "as is ".
